I love the sound of silence!
Leaving my car safely on the plowed part of Going-to-the-Sun road, I continued on cross-country skis further into Glacier National Park. I like skiing on closed roads, because I am not a very good skier and there is no danger of bumping into a tree or a having to use the bottom brake. If something should happen to me, I am also easier to find.
Now and then I stopped not just to catch my breath, but also to listened. I was listening to no sound. After the airplane above was gone, there was silence and no further human disturbance. Surprisingly nobody else was around on this sunny sunday afternoon.
I was feeling close the power of creation and the mountains seemed almost unreal. Pristine silence is fascinating and scary at the same time. It leaves me at awe.
This day made me forget all the bitter cold and stormy winter days and rejoice: “I love you Montana”

St. Mary and Going -to-the-Sun Road
This was such a gorgeous day even warmer than yesterday and no wind!
It started out by making me smile, while I watched two dog chasing after one coyote. Coyote, this clown, was jeeping and teasing the dogs. How often did I see Star, my husky, playing this game with a coyote?
After taking care of our house including horses and cats, I could not resist driving towards the mountains. Today was like a payback for all the hikes I missed in summer, because we have to work almost no stop during the summer months.
